Steely Dan [big] in Houston? Hell yeah!
I think I've seen them about six times, since I was seven years old. -Dee |

No sweat, Patton would be there to referee a Calvinball game if the football got too ugly.

hehehe.
you'll have to send me an mp3 of that. i'm not familiar with steely dan that i can remember. the only thing i know about them is they won a an award for best cd and i was surprised and that steely dan is a nickname for a dildo. maybe i know a song and don't know it's by them. i will also bring the noise, the funk. a fun for certainty is that i'm somewhere in this universe, and wherever i am, i'm thinking about you.

Probably the most recognizable of their songs goes something like:
Are you reelin' in the years? Stowin' away the time? Are you gatherin' up the tears? Have you had enough of mine? As far as Calvinball goes, there's no way I'd referee that game. I need to be in there playing like mad! Of course, I could make up the rule that I, the referee, get to play. |

I may well be off the mark here but didn't you, at some point a long time ago, say you liked "soccer", or "football" as we call it here, Dee?

You're absolutely right. How did you remember that? Heh.
I played for a little over 15 years. Although I quit briefly in high school because I joined my school drill team (that's like cheerleaders, but much, much better. We danced at games.) I couldn't do both at once. But, soon after I regretted my decision (the girls at that school, either skanks or bitches, plus I was getting a weird reputation just for simply being a member *scoff*) so, I re-joined. But yes, once upon a time, soccer was my game. -Dee |

For better or worse, usually worse, I've got a memory like an elephant when it comes to such trivial details. That's why I can remember details of the first time you posted your pic and details
Does this mean I'm in your good books with Red now? Sorry to hear about your troubled(?) time with the game. Do you get the chance to play nowadays? Or follow it all? Any European, particularly English teams? I support Arsenal and hate Man Utd by the way so be careful what you say I'm surprised to hear you played for so long coz I never thought that, even though you guys won the "Womens World Cup", football went back so far over there. It seems like it wasn't too long ago that you americans hated the game! Football is part and parcel of life here, love it or hate it. I did have a brief dalliance with basketball as my prefered sport but as I'm sure you'll appreciate, the lack of a following in the game makes it difficult to maintain interest so I eventually returned to the "beautiful game". BTW, dropped u a email earlier if you'd care to check |

yeah, i remembered only because we played klein forest in the state championship in high school, and they beat us 4-1.
arsenal huh? i was always ambivalent about most teams except liverpool, but as a whole my interest in soccer/football has waned since high school. i just don't have the exposure to it that you get in europe. i love playing, though i have to admit that i'm not that good. i played with a lot of foreign exchange students, and they blew me away with their skills. one guy from argentina was supposedly invited to train in some pro club's system, but declined in order to obtain an american education. he was fucking amazing though. in any case, i feel i should be more fervent about liverpool now that micheal owen is there, but i'm not.oh well. I first posted here about a year ago and was lurking here long before that, but Ive never really properly introduce myself yet. So I think Ill do just that.
I first found this quaint message board back in May of 1999 through the Americas Queen website. I lurked here until September of that year and then didnt return to lurking until May of 2000. I have been lurking since then and only made my first post here last August or so. I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Im 22 years old and currently unemployed, though Im hoping thatll change soon. Im aiming to get a job as a computer technician. I have two cats, Zoey and Sarah, you can read about them here. I spend most of my free time on the computer, usually playing computer games. My interests and hobbies include war history and history in general, computers, building models, computer gaming, building with lego (though rarely nowadays), science fiction (Im a Star Wars fan Zirkov "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" - Hebrews 11:1 NIV

Getting sentimental..for the last time | ||
|
(Fuck! I've missed Amory's pic).
I believe it is almost a year now, since I first revealed my (then) infatuation with Natalie in a very characteristic English. Time just passes you by, doesn't it? This coming Sunday, I'll be walking the golden pavements of the City of David, blowing at clear clouds and exploring my mind with some English and philosophy. It used to seem so far away, as in "next year" or "two months from now", and only when I utter this infinite word "tomorrow", will it finally hit me, huh? This all may seem very trivial to most of you, university/college graduates; but, can you try to look back and remember what it felt like, days, minutes, before you were about to leave home to start your studies? - Something you had been wondering about until it ultimately came to mind. Planning one's future, they say. Well, it is a hectic week, sort of a summery of this whole passing year. Around several occupations, spending time with friends who are about to split for the first time in their lives, both geographically and mentally, as followed. So, you try to have that "quality time" (overused expression) with each and everyone you somehow value, and yet find these rare moments to do some self-digging to, you know, put things in perspective. But it was good. It was a good year. "In transition", seems equivalent. So, this is not truly a "good-bye", more of the beginning of a new segment. On the weekends, when I'm at home, I'll make sure to check you guys out. And, if you ever plan a trip to Jerusalem, you will most likely find me at the foreign students unit. Helping them to adjust. A good-bye letter to the AQ members...checked. Personal letters to online friends...checked. (Check your emails you privileged ones). I owe you that testimony; she gave her approval long ago. |

Well I must say that it has been a pleasure to get to know you online, dear pnina.
Leaving home and moving on..... I wish you all the best. I'm sad to read your "good-bye" but of course I can understand your life moving on. It sounds like an exciting time. I hope you will come back and check us out if you get a few spare minutes for the internet world. In the meantime, I'll miss you gracing the pages here, my friend. Caly PS. Yes, I still hope to hear that testimony. I think the thread is on page 2 or 3. And I never answered your question about sexism in figure skating. It's that time of year again for ice skating, so I'll get right to it. |

Good luck, pnina. I hope you can check in and post some poetry and philosophical thoughts.
I remember going to college at the tender age of seventeen -- equal parts confused, excited, terrified, depressed, and horny. How little has changed! (less excitable now). |
