Hey Greg, that's crazy! I wanted to post the same topic few days ago except that my question was about the movies we watched obsessively when we were kids (until 15 years old maximum) because i have the feeling that's the age when you can watch the same thing over and over again, thousands of times, without getting tired. I can't anymore.

Let's see.....
Good or bad, i can't judge them now because they have a special place in my memories... I know some ones are really bad, but i just loved them at that time.

- THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965) is probably the first movie (i mean with real actors, before, i liked only cartoons) I really liked. I saw it when i was staying at a friend's home (during vacations) and i remember we watched it everyday. She loaned it to me when i came back home and i watched it over and over. I was in love with this story. I dreamt to live in that big family with lot of kids (i'm a only girl), it made me dream even more than MARY POPPINS (1964) that i liked a lot.

In primary school, i always watched those (bad) movies when i was at my best friend Marilyn's home, we had the videos of:
- THE GOONIES (1985)
- GREMLINS (1984)
- THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS (1982)
Waaoh, this one scared me so much!!!! I had to search the american name on the internet because i had no idea what it was (the French one is "The eyes of the forest"), i didn't even know if it was a real movie or just a TV movie, and i had no idea it was a Disney movie.
- MAC AND ME (1988)
Man, this ET was so cute! and so was the pink car with the swimming pool at the back at the end of the film.:-)
- ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN (1975)
(I had to search for the American title for this one too... Disney film again? huh!).
The little blonde girl was so cute! I used to watch her in a TV show on Sunday morning too (can't remember the name though but i remembered the name of the girl was Kim).... Ah memories! :-) and maybe i dreamt but remember the kids had amazing bedrooms in that film. Something like icecreams in the room etc...

oh that was so cool, the little actress was a real cutie and the end was very sad when they cuted her hair!
- DANCE TIL' DAWN (1988), TV
I hadn't the video but everytime it was aired on TV, i watched it.
At that time, Allyssa Milano was my idol ! Plus, there were all those actors from the sitcoms i used to watch (Growing Pains, Cosby Show, Married with children etc...)
- DREAM DATE (1989), TV
with the girl from the Cosby Show, again the story of a girl whom the father is overprotective (i wonder what it tells on me lol!)
- SHE'S OUT OF CONTROL (1989)
The French title was "Don't touch to my daughter", similar story that "She's all that", with Tony Miccelli (hehe) and the woman from 7th Heaven. Is the little sis in the movie the same actress than the young one in The watcher in the woods?
- LOOK WHO'S TALKING 1&2 (1989,90)
- HOME ALONE (1990)
- PRETTY WOMAN (1990)
I still know it by heart. I loved the French voice of Julia Roberts and i had a friend i always told her father looked like Richard Gere! lol

- GENIAL MES PARENTS DIVORCENT (="Great, my parents are divorcing"), 1990.
The n1 film i watched the most in my entire life!
I still know the sentences by heart. I watched it everyday for one year (in 6th grade). I was totally obsessed by it! Everywhere i went, i hope i would meet the main actor, i was in love with him. I wanted people call me "Penelope" like his girlfriend in the film. I wanted to look exactly like her etc...lol

- MON PERE CE HEROS (aka MY FATHER THIS HEROS), 1991
I'm talking about the original French movie withMarie Gillain, not the American remake with Katherine Heigl.

Then, my obsession for Sophie Marceau started the summer before my 12 years.... long obsession! I saw all her movies at that time. Now, i'm completely cured: i don't like her movies except those 4 ones:
- LA BOUM (aka The Party), 1980
I saw La Boum1&2 thousands of times in 7 and 8th grade, (i even dreamt of Sophie Marceau as Vic, her character in La Boum, which means she was 13 in my dream although she was at least 10 years older in real life! lol
- LA BOUM 2 (aka The Party 2), 1982
- L'ETUDIANTE (aka The Student), 1988
A sort of sequel of La Boum1&2: same main actress (but her characters are different though), same director and same composer.
- POUR SACHA (aka FOR SACHA), 1991
Takes place during the war in Israel, heartbreaking!
- FANFAN, 1993




then, there were:
- MINA TANNENBAUM, 1994
The story of an amazing friendship between 2 jewish girls....I can't see it anymore, i saw it so many times that the end doesn't make me cry anymore.
- CLUELESS, 1995

And i gonna buy the DVD of VIRGIN SUICIDES tomorrow and watcg it everyday! lol




To sum up, the movies i watched REALLY MORE THAN A LOT are:
The Sound of music, The Goonies, Pretty Woman, Genial mes parents divorcent, My Girl, La Boum1&2, Impudent girl, The student, My father this hero, Mina Tannenbaum, Clueless, Leon and Edward Scissorhands.

"One thing I found strange about the movie "La Boum" was that they seemed to use the same song for the entire soundtrack of the movie. While first watching it when I was about 13 or 14, I kept thinking "Didn't they use that song in the last scene?". Oh well." (Taisu)

Yeah but that's because the song is so cool Taisu!
I even have the soundtrack of La Boum ("Reality"), La Boum2 ("Your eyes") and L'etudiante ("You call it love") at home!
Those 3 songs are so cool, they remind me a lot of cool memories!
No seriously, when a song is a hit, it's normal they play it over and over in every party, no?


"I used to watch the old "Weird Science" series on USA when it was still running. Vanessa Angel was hot and the show was funny. I wonder why they got rid of it. " (Taisu)

Oh! I forgot to mention "Weird Science" the movie, in the ones i always watched at my best friend's home!



Now, The Pure one, i have a very important question for you
Since you're German, i hope you will be able to help me:
I used to watch a movie when i was a kid, i'm pretty sure it was a German "fairy tale"
It was about a boy who lived in the sky with a sort of godmother.... When, he jumped on a sort of bed, he could decide the weather on the earth (he loved to make to snow).... but the problem is that he couldn't grow up, he was eternal in the sky....so, he decided to leave the sky when he met love (i'm not sure about that though) to live on earth.
Does it remind something to someone here?
