Gilmore Gilrs is my favorite show! I wanna rant some about it. can I? Although, sometimes the show can get too girly-eccentric, whereas it's obvious the female mind is coming up with some of this stuff. Not that it's really a bad thing--esspecially considering the rampent sexism everywhere else in culture--but just sometimes the show gets a little too "cute" if you know what I mean.

I loath Jess! I've hated him since his first smirk. I hate his too cool for you and school attitude. He thinks he's so supperior and smart, yet he flunks out of high school, so obvioulsy he's not as smart as he thinks he is, (and just reading books and having good taste in music doesn't automatically make someone smart). You know he's dumb, because he never laughs. A truly smart person wouldn't feel the need to put on a pretense where he's too smart to find anything funny, ever. The smartest people I've met are often the most humouous--and it follows in pop culture--Conan O Brian, Jon Stewart--even Natalie Portman, super brain, is quick to laugh. Frankly, I don't know why Rori ever went out with Jess at all. It's not like he's even all that hot. There's no way the audiance is supposed to like him--no way--which is why it confuses me why they're giving him his own spin-off show. (but he's a good character, I suppose).

I like Rori, but she, and her mom, are eletist snobs. I got mad at her when her nice boy boyfriend tells her he's engaged, she can't say "Wow, congradulations," but instead lectures him about being too young! She's cool anyway--she'd totally intimidate me in real life.

I like the pop culture references too--it makes me feel "special" when I get them--like I'm part of the crowd that "get's it." I wonder how many really understood the Zelda Fitzgerald reference, from two weeks ago (I missed last Tuesday's). Or found the symbolism in the book Jess was reading on the bus out of town, 100 years of solitude? (By the way, he doesn't even have the deceny to properly break up with her? He just leaves town, says some dumb coment about not being able to take her to the prom? His nerve! He totally waisted her time--the jerk.)

Oh, and I wish Lori's friend Suki were a bit more complex. It seems her entire existance is just to be Lori's colorful sidekick companion. Oh, and what is Lori going to do when Rori leaves for Yale? How lonley for her.

I went on the official GG message board the episodes after Jess came back, and was appauled to read this whole thread about Jess being sweet because he said "I love you." There was this big gushy awwwww girls swooning reaction to it. I wanted to post a hatefull response in it, about just saying "I love you" not really meaning shit--doesn't make up for actual shity actions people (Jess) do, you're all stupid, blah, blah, but I didn't remember my password.

I don't think I would have changed any of there minds anyway. "but he's so cute" I'm sure they'd tell me--let him be there escapist "bad boy" entertainment thrill. Let them indulge in dick's dicky behavior. It's only a show.

I'm still a bit bugged by it I suppose.

I also like "Smallville". I'm not gay, yet I have to admit, Tom Wellings kissy scenes are the hottest I've ever seen on TV. He's muscular yet gentle, and his make-out girls are all hot. The last episode, I actually figured, if I were in his place, I'd put up with the girls psyco obsessed behavoir, just for the sex. It looked that appealing.

I haven't yet. I'm not sure what I'm waiting on. It's like, when I was a kid, I got this big thick candy cane for Christmas. I was so excited over it, that I tried to make it last a year--prolong the joy. Which was a stupid thing to do, because partically licked candy canes aren't made to last. They collect fuzz.

This season's finale made up for all the lackluster episodes from its shaky start. I squeeled like a little girl at the end.
