It's a small word, which has alot of meaning and history; so much of it that it's very easy to get it confused in people's minds and make them believe the wrong things and speak for the wrong reasons.
Most of the people who are now living there are born Jewish, both Arab and Israeli, but it wasn't always like that. With things going on in Hitler's Germany and the war in Europe, it became quite easy to blame the "Jews" as the scape goats for everything... and boy were they ever. They were so toxic that they had to be shipped out to special concentration camps and burnt alive over there--something which probably all of us were taught in school--including Nat.
But that wasn't the whole story--the ones who had survived (over six million of them had perished in Hitler's attempt at cleaning them)--had to now find a place to live. Europe was out of the question after what had just happened (not that they wanted them back anyway) and America or Britain weren't too keen on having them either... so they turned to South-America and found a suitable spot to live and thrive if it were possible.
But wait a minute--there was another bit of history that they were overlooking--and that was the Arabs. They had been living with them peacefully until this happened, and now they were suddenly out of a land... where to go now? Why not back to Arabia--that's what the Zionists amongst them thought anyway. But people who knew them better did not think so desisovely but were ultimately pushed aside. They were just too late I guess...
Gaza has now become laced with Israeli tanks fortifying their positions to go in, and this time--it looks like they mean business. There has been one causality that I know of on the Israeli side [who is dead] but they aren't even seeing it from the Palestinian/Gazan side--who have more than something like three hundred dead at the moment--a largue number of them women and children., and they expect this to bring them peace--dream on I say.
