"UD: how long ago did you and Kelly break up? It's cool that you two are still friends enough that you went to her wedding, though I'm sure that was torturous. Good luck with that new girl, btw. Hopefully your mom's intuition will prove prophetic, and if she's as religious-minded as you, hey, all the better.
Kell and I, man. Ya we've been friends for over 6 years I think, serious for about 3 or more. We never really broke up. It was like we were friends and things just progressed and became more intimate. There reached a point where I was totally gonna ask her to marry me. Had it all planned out, had the ring and everything, even the way I was gonna propose. I told my mom I was going to ask Kell to marry me and she flipped 'cause she had seen some of the family issues that I had gone through with her fam and she was affraid of what that would be like for a lifetime. Knowing she couldn't stop a man on a mission she just said "Brian, please, at least talk to some older wise couple that knows both of you and see what they have to say." I have much respect for my friend Casey and his wife and fam so I went to them. The asked questions, I asked questions. The conclusion basically left me considering things I hadn't previously, just basic life stuff. Like as I would be going to college what would happen if she got pregnant. There's no way I could work fulltime, school fulltime and do the family thing in a quality fashion. Possble to make it, but pleasureable? I really doubt it. That sold me. I delayed and prayed. Some time passed and, as Kell and I were very open about what we were thinking, we talked about mariage and where our peace about it was or wasn't. We mutually concluded, via God's leading in both our hearts individually, that inspite of our deep love for one another, neither of us had a true peace about the getting married part. So we concluded to have sex and call it a day. JUST KIDDING!!! No it was way tough 'cause you just can't let go of the intamacy you have with someone at the drop of a hat. We had to talk multiple times after that about where we were at in our distancing process. Tough, but knowing that I was following God's dirrection made it possible. It was some time into this chilling process that she met Jon, now her new husband. She had talked about him when they started hanging out so I knew the potential was there, but I guess I underestimated my attatchment to her, because when she told me she was engaged, it hit me like a ton of bricks. A chapter has been closed though and I hope I can hang with them as a couple now 'cause Jon is way cool too.
"...when she got down to get their insurance info."
What does she drive, a monster truck?
Amory:
"Ditto, UD, I hope that new prospect leads to something. "
Thanx for the hope, bud
