Spiderman 3 | ||
|
Ok, time for a new moview review. Spiderman 3 was good but not great. I think #2 was much better. Problem I had was that there were too many plot lines going and even though the movie was long there wasn't enough time to develop all the plot lines. Also I would have liked to the villain Venom enter the story line earlier in the movie kinda of a cool character but not a lot of time spent on him.

I thought it was very good but I did not like the ending, I would tell you why I didnt like the end, but then I'd have to tell you how it ended

sorry about that cctiger.
i'm not sure i know the different between this thread and the cinema think tank thread. i don't usually rank things so that's why i chose to post my reviews in the other one. i liked the first die hards. haven't seen the others. i would like to see this new one. Marion Cotilliard delivers the performance of the year as Edith Piaf in "La Vie En Rose" - the audience stayed for the credits, always a barometer of something wonderful. Conversations struck up with total strangers who wanted confirmation of what they saw and what they felt.

Dragon Wars | ||

OK, I know its not a movie that would appeal to most on this board but I saw the trailer and was interested so I went and saw it. The first thing thats apparent is that they spent the majority of the budget on CGI and not on acting. The action scenes are overdone and the final scene is filmed so darkly its hard to see whats going on. Still it was somewhat enternaining and its not the worst movie I've ever seen (The Thin Red Lind) so I give it 1-1/2 Stars

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!
well i've seen some other movies this year but i am not remembering them. on the big screen however, this might be my first this year????????????????? i saw forgetting sara marshall. i very much enjoyed it. i did miss the first 10 minutes. the girls i went with thought it started later than it did. it was very funny. i don't think it's the funniest thing i've ever seen though. i may or may not get the dvd when it comes out. i liked the scenery. the southern guy(can't remember his name) was funny but he was so much like his character on the tv but that's okay. that 70s girl was cute and fun as was um leading lady. i enjoyed her. not a good advertisement for relationships. hahhaa. the sex was funny as was the orgasm yelling trying to outdo each other. i'd see it again. i felt bad for the characters. ahahhhhaa.

I found it to be entertaining but not the greatest thing I've ever seen. I was surprised how violent it seemed, especially compared to the first movie, and
I don't recall the book being as violent either

I saw this a while back on the insistence of a friend of mine. He, being the hipster that he is, loved it. I came in thinking that I'd absolutely hate it...however, I didn't. It was...bad, but not horrible. I'm disappointed that I didn't see more of Minnesota actually in the movie...guess they didn't film on location. I think Juno was probably the most annoying character, though. Seriously, you're not even half as cool as you think you are, just shut up. Another thing I don't get is why there seems to be some sort of attraction to Ellen Page from a lot of my guy friends. What's that all about? She looks extremely ordinary, there's nothing remarkable about her. She's not hot, she's mildly pretty at best. Whatev. Those guys obviously haven't been to Brazil (not that I have either, but I have looked at many pictures of half/fully naked women who are apparently from that region of the world, which gives me the impression that Brazil is full of extremely hot half/fully naked women who would love nothing more than to...ahem...nevermind).

I can't speak for anyone else, but my insatiable crush on Ellen Page has virtually nothing to do with her looks. I do think she's attractive, but for
me I'm just completely drawn to her personality and just her vibe. She's not even in the same fuckin sport as far as the lookers like Natalie or
Jessica Alba or Mila Kunis are, but I just think she's the coolest.
Since the abominable Sex and The City movie is coming out, what really knaws at me is...why does ANYBODY find Sarah Jessica Parker even the least bit attractive? She is disgusting to look at. I have to turn away. Sorry, Matthew Broderick.

SJParker=waaayyy overrated for sure. Charlotte is pretty cute, but as far as I'm concerned, none of the women on that show really stand out to me. Ellen
Page's personality? You mean public persona, yes? I understand that sometimes when you see someone, you get an idea of how they might be in person, and
that's cool...I get that vibe from some people/celebs, too. But I dunno, I guess Ellen Page's vibe never really left a lasting impression with me.
Speaking of way overrated women, here's my theory behind that. These women are considered sex symbols by women rather than men. Women, it would seem, like other women celebs who are good looking compared to your average person, but yet seemingly approachable and not so untouchably hot that it would cause jealousy, envy, or spite on the part of the female viewer. On that list for me is.. Julia Roberts: I've never understood why she's ever been considered hot or attractive until I put this theory to use. I've rarely heard any guy talk about her the same way they would about Jessica Alba or Salma Hayek. Sandra Bullock: She's pretty, but not hot, in my opinion. Suffers the same syndrome as Julia Roberts, but to a lesser degree. Meg Ryan: She's blond....big freakin' whup. SJParker: All I can say is WTF. She's not the least bit attractive to me at all. Of course, Mr. Big isn't attractive either, so there you go. Renee Zelweger (spl???): Same thing as Meg Ryan...blond, so-so looks,
